The 45-time international is looking forward to a lucrative adventure outside Europe LaRoja namely not sitting.

De Gea has received several offers from the Saudi Pro League from wealthy clubs in recent months, but the Madrid native believes that he can still easily compete in the European top. The experienced closing post is currently in training to maintain his fitness, but is starting to get tired of waiting. De Gea is slowly starting to think about his football retirement, despite his young age for a goalkeeper. Transfer market still estimates his market value at 13 million euros, although he can be picked up for free by top clubs.

De Gea wants to prove himself one more time at a top club and prefers an employer that plays in the Champions League. The goalie feels hurt by his departure from United, in which a lack of confidence from manager Erik ten Hag played a major role. De Gea could have stayed at Old Trafford, but would have had to agree to a contract on lower terms. So he decided to leave United behind, also because the Red Devils managed to get another goalkeeper with André Onana.

Manchester United paid around 25 million euros in the summer of 2011 to free De Gea from Atlético Madrid. Ultimately, the goalkeeper spent no less than twelve seasons in the employ of the English superpower. De Gea’s tally ended last summer at 545 matches for United, in which he kept 190 clean sheets.
