Noa Vahle, the daughter of Linda de Mol, was also completely ignored by the players of the Dutch national team in the past international week. The reporter of Today Inside will travel to Qatar in November for the program, but more than two years after the Akwasi riot, the internationals still receive zero.

The the Dutch players started boycotting Today Inside when Johan Derksen made a misplaced joke about rapper Akwasi in 2020. The boycott does not affect the prominent faces Derksen, Wilfred Genee and René van der Gijp, but the reporters of the program in particular suffer from the problem: no player wants to talk to the medium.

Last Friday, host Genee jumped into the breach for Vahle during the broadcast. “The whole boycott of course makes no sense. That girl Noa is now going to Qatar for us and nobody is allowed to ask anything.” Journalist Martijn Krabbendam of Football International picked up on that. “Yes, she was there yesterday too. I also asked: ‘Can you speak to all those players?’ She said: ‘No, no, I’m not allowed anything yet, only the national coach.’ Well, childish isn’t it?”

Little consolation for Vahle: the reporter can speak with Louis van Gaal in Qatar. The national coach has been a good acquaintance of the De Mol family for many years. However, it is often the case that the national coach may only be asked two questions. So in-depth interviews do not seem to be in it for Today Inside and Vahle in Qatar.
