Montpellier shared the points with FC Nantes on Friday evening in a heated competition match. The home team received two red cards in the final phase. The second in particular will be discussed for a long time to come.

Montpellier found itself with ten men just after the end of regular playing time, after Lucas Mincarelli brought down Nantes attacker Bénie Traoré.

It didn't stop there, because three minutes later Arnaud Nordin was also allowed to intervene after a rash action. The midfielder hit his opponent Nicolas Cozza full in the face with a karate kick.

Cozza was eventually patched up, but Nantes was unable to exploit the surplus in the short time that remained. It therefore remained at the 1-1 that was already on the scoreboard at that time.

Thanks to the draw, Nantes is doing well in the fight against relegation. The gap with number sixteen Le Havre is currently four points. Montpellier is in twelfth place in Ligue 1.
