Antonio Conte is currently missing from Tottenham Hotspur. The 53-year-old Italian manager has become unwell after a severe pain in his stomach and will undergo gallbladder surgery on Wednesday. How long the Spurs having to do without their manager remains to be seen. The squatter awaits against Manchester City next Sunday.

Conte was diagnosed with cholecystitis and has to go under the knife as a result. “After a period of recovery, Antonio will return,” Tottenham Hotspur said in a statement. Who will be on the bench next Sunday with the current number five of the Premier League is still uncertain. It is also unclear how long Conte will be out of circulation.

The Spurs do count on Conte to take back to the dugout ‘after a period of recovery’. Tottenham are going through a difficult season. Although the Londoners are through to the last sixteen of the Champions League, they are having a hard time in the competition. After the winter break, Aston Villa (0-2), Arsenal (0-2) and Manchester City (4-2) were already lost. The club is fifth in the Premier League and already has six points more than number four Manchester United.
