Latest update:

Chelsea did good business in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. At Stamford Bridge, Mauricio Pochettino's team proved to be too big for Sheffield United in the second half: 2-0. Cole Palmer was the big man on the Londoners' side with a goal and an assist. The victory means Chelsea climbs up the rankings again. The team is now in tenth place.

Dorde Petrovic made his starting debut at Chelsea. The goalie replaced Robert Sanchez, who was injured, during the match against Everton (2-0 loss) and was allowed to make his starting debut in the Premier League today. Christopher Nkunku was in the selection for the first time and started on the bench. As usual, Gustavo Hamer had a starting place at Sheffield.

In the first half, Chelsea often had the ball, but hardly made any serious attempts on goal. For example, Connor Gallagher shot straight at goalkeeper Wes Foderingham after a good interception, while at the other end Cameron Archer's effort sailed wide of the goal.

After the tea break the Blues still the lead. Raheem Sterling accelerated past his direct opponent in the 54th minute and gave a tight lead. Palmer was able to run in from close range: 1-0.

Very soon afterwards, Pochettino's team also made it 2-0. After Foderingham did not handle a ball properly, this time reporter Palmer pulled the ball in front of the empty goal, where Nicholas Jackson was lined up to tap in.

Thanks to the second home win in a row, Chelsea can look up in the competition again. The Londoners have collected 22 points in the Premier League so far. However, fifth place, which may entitle them to participate in the Champions League at the end of the season, is still far away. That is where Tottenham Hotspur now resides, with 33 points.
