Bryan Linssen has a chance to be named Player of the Week in the Conference League following his performance on behalf of Feyenoord against 1. FC Union Berlin on Thursday evening. The attacker is one of the four nominees. Football fans can cast their vote on UEFA’s website.

Linssen was one of the trendsetters at Feyenoord on Thursday evening in the 3-1 home match against Union Berlin. The 31-year-old attacker was good for the second goal of the Rotterdam team in the first half. Robin Knoche got off balance after a smart push from Linssen and the striker then failed to face goalkeeper Andreas Luthe. Fifteen minutes before the end, Linssen also had an important part in Feyenoord’s third goal. A shot from the attacker could still be parried by Luthe, after which Luis Sinisterra had the ball for tapping. With the win, Feyenoord leads Group E with seven points from three matches.

Thanks to his strong playing, Linssen has been nominated for Player of the Week by UEFA. The Feyenoord striker does have stiff competition. Erik Botheim of FK Bodö/Glimt was the big man with two goals and three assists during the impressive 6-1 victory over AS Roma. The other nominees are Rauno Sappinen, who produced the goals for FC Flora Talinn against Anorthosis Famagusa (2-2) and Gavriel Kanichoswky, who scored twice for Maccabi Tel Aviv against HJK (0-5).
