The line-up of Ajax for the possible championship match against sc Heerenveen is known at The Telegraph† Just like last Sunday against AZ (2-2), Erik ten Hag opts for a 4-4-2 formation, but this time with Sébastien Haller and Dusan Tadic in the forefront. That puts Brian Brobbey on the couch. Brobbey dropped out against AZ on Sunday with an injury, but can therefore start as a substitute. In the right back position, Noussair Mazraoui takes over from Devyne Rensch, while Steven Berghuis also starts in the base. The duel in the Johan Cruijff ArenA starts at 8 p.m.

Ten Hag experimented for the first time with a 4-4-2 formation in the game that was won against PEC Zwolle (3-0), as the game played by the team from Amsterdam in the weeks before looked very dull. Ten Hag then started with Dusan Tadic next to Haller, from the duel with AZ the trainer chose Brobbey, with Tadic behind it. It was expected that he would use the same battle plan against Heerenveen, but the choice has again fallen on Tadic instead of Brobbey.

In midfield, Ten Hag cannot have the injured Ryan Gravenberch, which means that it consists of Edson Álvarez, Kenneth Taylor, Davy Klaassen and Berghuis. Behind it, the defense is formed from left to right by Nicolás Tagliafico, Daley Blind, Jurriën Timber and Mazraoui. The right-back, who is on his way to Bayern Munich, started on the bench last week, but has now been found fit enough to start. Maarten Stekelenburg completes the line-up.

Ten Hag stands for his last trick as head coach of Ajax. The 52-year-old Tukker will leave for Manchester United after this season. Ten Hag’s honors list in Amsterdam currently consists of five prizes: two national titles (in the 2018/19 and 2020/21 seasons), two KNVB Cups (2018/19 and 2020/21) and the Johan Cruijff Scale in 2019. Becoming champion against Heerenveen on Wednesday evening means the 36th national title in club history.
