Jan Paul van Hecke fought some great duels with Brian Brobbey. The center defender tells this in front of the camera after the match with Ajax (0-2). ESPN. While Van Hecke is being interviewed, Brobbey interrupts him, laughing: “Is he complaining again?” the striker teases.

“Brobbey didn’t get much help and we know that you also talk to referees a lot,” explains ESPN reporter Cristian Willaert introduces Van Hecke. “I think you had that in your pocket again, didn’t you?”

“Not completely in my pocket, because I will eventually get a yellow card,” Van Hecke answers with a smile. “Do you know what he does very well? He keeps the opponent very close to him and then he tries to turn.”

“I try to stop him, but sometimes he falls backwards, then I fall too and then it seems as if I commit the violation,” explains the defender, who is then suddenly interrupted by Brobbey.

“Is he complaining again?” Brobbey asks with a wink. It leads to laughter from Van Hecke. The physically strong striker later also appears in front of the camera.

The attacker also saw Van Hecke himself busy with the referees. “During halftime he also spoke to the referee in the catacombs. I don’t know what he said, but yes.”

“He is a smart boy,” Brobbey praises his fellow countryman. “He can do that well, I have experienced it in the Dutch national team. It is nice there when he does it.”
