Bayern Munich is not yet ready for the transfer market after the upcoming signing of Matthijs de Ligt. Julian Nagelsmann, the trainer of of the Rekordmeister, wants to strengthen his midfield even further and according to Fabrizio Romano, Konrad Laimer is the man who is eligible. He must be snatched from RB Leipzig.

The transfer from De Ligt to Bayern is almost complete and will probably be made official very soon. That does not mean that the German top club can rest on its laurels afterwards, because it wants to continue on the transfer market. According to trainer Nagelsmann, the midfield needs reinforcements and that is why Laimer is in the picture. Bayern are confident they can reach an agreement with Leipzig and that is the only hurdle left to clear as a personal deal with the Austrian has already been reached.

Laimer has been on the list at the Allianz Arena for a while, but after Leon Goretzka’s injury, the need is high and Bayern want to hit nails with heads. Nagelsmann wants Laimer to join the group as soon as possible and so an offer will soon be made which the Bavarian club believe should be enough to convince Leipzig. An earlier opening offer of around twenty million euros was rejected by those Roten Bullen. The midfielder still has a one-year contract with Leipzig.

Should Bayern succeed in bringing in Laimer, Ryan Gravenberch will have a serious competitor. The playmaker, who was snatched from Ajax this summer, hopes to have a chance of a basic place in Nagelsmann’s team and the arrival of Laimer could make that task a lot more difficult. In addition to Gravenberch and the upcoming arrival of De Ligt, the club from Munich also brought Noussair Mazraoui and Sadio Mané to the club.
