Various Spanish media – including Mundo Deportivo, COPE, Sport and Gerard Romero – report that negotiations for a return of the 26-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers winger are at an advanced stage. According to Ornstein, a rental deal with an option to buy worth 35 million euros is currently on the table. Spanish journalist Romero even adds that all parties are almost over and that Traoré appears to be on his way to Barcelona unless something crazy happens at the last minute. Also Sport mentions an agreement in principle about Traoré, who has to make a substantial sacrifice to be able to be registered. Nevertheless, everything would already be in order for Traoré to be able to sign up for LaLiga. The Spanish sports newspaper writes that Traoré can sign a four-year contract in Barcelona next summer.

Traoré previously played for Barcelona between 2004 and 2013, before joining Wolverhampton in 2018 via Aston Villa and Middlesbrough. The Wolves may be able to permanently capture Francisco Trincão in exchange for Traoré. Mundo Deportivo writes that Barcelona plans to involve the Portuguese attacker – currently with a €30 million option to buy to Wolverhampton – in a deal around Traoré.
