Barcelona has finally secured the arrival of Emre Demir, reports Sport. The Catalans take over the seventeen-year-old talent for four million euros from Kayserispor. The deal was preceded by difficult negotiations, because Barcelona initially did not want to go beyond an amount of two million euros.

As is known, Barcelona is struggling with a debt of 1.35 billion euros, but Joan Laporta has according to Sport personally ensured that the deal with Kayserispor was completed. In addition to the amount of four million euros, a resale percentage has also been agreed. Barcelona trumps several top clubs, who also showed interest in Demir. The young talent will stay with Kayserispor at least until January 15, when he will celebrate his eighteenth birthday. It could also be that Barca transfer him after the season.

Demir is known in Turkey as a great talent, who can play as an attacking midfielder and on both flanks. He holds the record for youngest ever goalscorer in the Süper Lig. Emre Demir was only 15 years and 299 days old when he scored against Gençlerbirligi in 2019. In total, the attacking midfielder already has an impressive 31 official appearances for Kayserispor, in which he scored 3 times and provided 1 assist. In ten of those games, Demir started in the starting line-up.

Turkish Emre Demir, who has stayed on the bench at Kayserispor three times this season, is not related to Yusuf Demir, the eighteen-year-old Austrian talent with Turkish roots who made the switch from Rapid Wien to Barcelona this summer.
