Barcelona has officially completed the long-awaited arrival of Emre Demir. The seventeen-year-old attacking midfielder will come over from Kayserispor after this season for an amount of two million euros, excluding variables. Previously made Sport reported a transfer fee of around four million euros.

Demir has signed a long-term contract until mid-2027 and has a mandatory escape clause in his €400 million contract. The attacking midfielder will initially join Barca B. “Emre Demir is a skilled left-footed attacking midfielder who can also play in the attack anywhere”, is the hopeful description of Barcelona. “Although he is basically a playmaker, he also lowers himself to help with defensive duties. At 1.75 meters tall, Demir uses his center of gravity to make the most of his qualities.”

Demir holds the record for youngest ever goalscorer in the Süper Lig. Emre Demir was only 15 years and 299 days old when he scored against Gençlerbirligi in 2019. In total, the attacking midfielder already has an impressive 31 official appearances for Kayserispor, in which he scored 3 times and provided 1 assist. In ten of those games, Demir started in the starting line-up. He has not played for his club this season and has always remained on the bench. The Turkish Emre Demir is not related to Yusuf Demir, the eighteen-year-old Austrian talent with Turkish roots who made the switch from Rapid Wien to Barcelona this summer.
