Ansu Fati is according Sport on the way to the exit at Barcelona. The Spanish medium writes that the Catalans have accepted an offer of 33 million euros plus Rúben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Neves, a central midfielder from Portugal, has been on Barça’s wish list for some time and this swap deal could see Frenkie de Jong gain a competitor.

It was not actually the intention to sell Fati, but Wolves’ bid for the attacker is seen as too interesting to pass up. If the transfer is completed before June 30, the transfer fee can also be included in the annual figures of the current season and the financial end result will look a lot brighter. Sport therefore believes to know that Barcelona has agreed and that the ball is now in the Fati camp.

The winger, who is represented by Jorge Mendes, is said to prefer staying at Barcelona himself. However, his environment thinks that a transfer to Wolves would be very good for Fati’s development, as it has recently come to a standstill due to injuries. This year, trainer Xavi usually has no base place left for the player who was allowed to take over number 10 after the departure of Lionel Messi. Fati could play weekly in the Premier League again and then go to another top club.

Xavi, meanwhile, looks on with regret at the developments. He is not in favor of the arrival of Neves, but knows that the club management is charmed by the Portuguese and that the income is badly needed. Neves played in 38 games for Wolves this season and scored six goals and an assist. The English took him over from FC Porto for almost eighteen million euros in 2017 and could therefore, if the transfer be completed, double that amount and get Ansu Fati back for him.
