Konrad De La Fuente is on the radar at AZ. This is reported by Luca Bendoni, a transfer journalist who works with Gianluca Di Marzio. The American, who was in the youth academy at Barcelona and made his debut there in the first team under Ronald Koeman, is currently playing on a rental basis at Olympiakos. He gets few chances there and a transfer to AZ could offer a solution.

Olympique Marseille rented De La Fuente to Olympiakos in the summer, but that is not yet an unqualified success. The 21-year-old wing forward has only played in five official games for the Piraeus club this season and the Greeks do not intend to exercise the purchase option they have negotiated. TO is therefore open to a return from De La Fuente, in order to immediately re-let him afterwards. AZ hopes for such a scenario.

The Alkmaarders are taking into account a departure from Jesper Karlsson, who is linked to PSV, among others. De La Fuente could then succeed the Swede, as the American prefers to play on the left. According to Bendoni, AZ is interested, but technical director Max Huiberts has not yet acted concretely. Perhaps that will only happen when Karlsson is actually standing in front of a departure or has already closed the door behind him.

De La Fuente was long known as a great talent and was taken away by Barcelona in 2013 from the youth of the local CF Damm. In January 2021 it came to an official debut los Azulgrana when Koeman made him come on in a Copa del Rey match at Cornellá (0-2). Ultimately, De La Fuente was sold to Marseille in the summer of 2021 for an amount of three million euros. The small right foot has also played three international matches for the United States.
