Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can still leave Barcelona. The Gabonese has long been associated with Chelsea and that club is even brooding on an offer. The offer will be negotiated through intermediaries in the coming week, Fabrizio Romano writes. A possible agreement could also have consequences for Memphis Depay.

Chelsea have been looking for a new striker for ages and Aubameyang can fill that vacancy. The Blues have made an opening offer for the Gabonese and will enter into talks with Barcelona next week about an offer that has yet to be sent. Negotiations will take place through intermediaries and it is hoped that an agreement can then be reached. If that is indeed successful, it could have consequences for Depay.

After all, Barcelona would prefer to let only one striker go and because Depay also hopes for an outgoing transfer, that could become more difficult after a deal around Aubameyang. The Dutchman hopes for the cooperation of Barça to complete his move to Juventus and will therefore have to watch nervously whether and how quickly his Gabonese competitor is sold by los Azulgrana.

Juve could become the fifth club Depay plays for. The flamboyant right leg made his debut for PSV in 2012, after which Manchester United took over from the Eindhoven team in July 2015 for 34 million euros. In England, the the Dutch international never really left his mark, after which he left for Olympique Lyon. After five good years in France, Depay was brought to Barcelona by Ronald Koeman last summer, where he has so far accounted for 13 goals and two assists in 36 official games.
