Arne Slot is an option for the trainer vacancy at Eintracht Frankfurt. That reports the German Sports1. The coach of Feyenoord looks good abroad, as he will become champion of the Netherlands with Feyenoord this season and also managed to reach the final of the Conference League last year. It is not clear whether Slot is the main candidate for Frankfurt.

Sports1 writes that Frankfurt, where Oliver Glasner was relieved of his duties this week, has a number of trainers on the list and that Slot is one of them. The coach from Bergentheim is seen as a man who ‘can improve teams tactically and develop his players’. Dino Topmöller, who was assistant coach at Bayern Munich under Julian Nagelsmann, and Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle are also mentioned. Bringing in Toppmöller would be the most interesting from a financial point of view, because it is now clubless.

It is the first time that there has been any German interest in Slot. The Premier League has been pulling for the trainer of Feyenoord for some time, who previously rejected an offer from Leeds United. In recent weeks, Slot has mainly been linked to Tottenham Hotspur, which is still looking for a new trainer for the coming season. There, the Dutchman would be one of the two remaining candidates, together with Nagelsmann.

It was also recently announced that Feyenoord will do everything in its power to keep Slot in Rotterdam South. Dennis te Kloese stated this in conversation with 1908.nl, in response to comments by Wilfred Genee about the former midfielder possibly staying on longer. A substantial increase in Slot’s salary, which is still fixed until mid-2025, is one of the possibilities. However, clarity is not expected until after Feyenoord’s championship, which can be won definitively next Sunday.
