Alexander Sörloth has his top transfer. Trabzonspor publishes a video through official channels in which the 24-year-old Norwegian striker says goodbye to the Turkish club, where he played on a rental basis last season. RB Leipzig has paid twenty million euros to take over Sörloth from Crystal Palace, although this fixed transfer fee can increase by another two million euros through bonuses.

Sörloth’s name has recently been associated with RB Leipzig, which lost two attackers with the transfer from Timo Werner to Chelsea and the switch from Patrik Schick to Bayer Leverkusen. The striker had an excellent season at Trabzonspor, where he scored 33 goals and 11 assists in 49 official games. The number two of last Süper Lig season hired Sörloth from Crystal Palace and the temporary contract of the 24-time Norwegian international in Turkey actually continued until the summer of 2021.

However, it was already clear that Sörloth would no longer play on a rental basis for Trabzonspor next season. In addition to RB Leipzig, Tottenham Hotspur was also in the market for the striker, who initially did not return to Turkey after the last international period. In a statement, Trabzonspor announced that all parties were negotiating about Sörloth, whose lease also had to be terminated. The Turkish club also had an option to buy, which meant that an agreement had to be reached with Crystal Palace about the distribution of the transfer fee.

Apparently that agreement has now been reached, as a result of which Sörloth makes the switch to RB Leipzig. The Norwegian striker is best known in the Netherlands for his unsuccessful passage at FC Groningen, where he produced 6 goals in 42 official matches in a year and a half. Sörloth, who was trained by Rosenborg BK, then ended up at Crystal Palace via FC Midtjylland. The Eagles previously rented him to AA Gent and now see him permanently leave for RB Leipzig.
