Ajax continues longer with Anass Salah-Eddine, reports The Telegraph. The defender’s contract has been broken open and extended until mid-2025. The team from Amsterdam will rent him out to FC Twente next season, where he must occupy the left back position. Salah-Eddine’s old contract ran until next summer. The player had been negotiating with Ajax about a new contract for some time, but was dissatisfied with the club’s proposal. Feyenoord also fished for his services as a result.

Salah-Eddine was transferred by Ajax four years ago from the youth academy of AZ. The left wing defender played his matches for Young Ajax last season and made his debut in the main squad in the very last competition match, as a substitute against Vitesse (2-2). The club management sees a future in the born Amsterdammer and made a proposal in April to extend his contract. After the first proposal was found to be too light, both parties have now reached an agreement.

The interest in the left wing defender was great, because in addition to FC Twente, Feyenoord, Club Brugge and Everton were also interested in his services. The Enschedeans are therefore drawing the longest straw. Salah-Eddine will be hired next season and in principle will return to Ajax after that. At Twente he has to compete with Gijs Smal. Next Thursday, the team of trainer Ron Jans will meet the Serbian FK Cukaricki for the first time in the Conference League.

Salah-Eddine was not in the match selection for the exhibition games against KAS Eupen, Red Bull Salzburg and Shakhtar Donetsk in recent weeks. The wingback came in against Lokomotiva Zagreb (3-0 win) half an hour before the end. Earlier in the preparation, he participated in half against SV Meppen (0-3 win). The intention is that he will immediately join FC Twente so that he can be deployed in a European context on Thursday. With the arrival of the left back, the Enschede team have completed their selection for next season.
