Jay Enem continues his career with Venezia FC in Serie B, so late Ajax Showtime know. Enem would initially join Jong Ajax without a contract, but now had the opportunity to sign a multi-year contract in Venice. The nineteen-year-old striker will soon join the first team of the Italian club, which was relegated from Serie A last season.

The team from Amsterdam will still receive a training allowance for Enem, but will not receive a transfer fee as he was not under contract. Enem has been playing for Ajax since July 2016, which took him over from AZ at the time. Last season, the striker made his debut with the Amsterdam team’s promise team as a professional football player. In the matches against FC Dordrecht (3-3) and FC Volendam (1-3 defeat), Enem came in as a substitute in the team. In total he played eleven minutes for Jong Ajax.

During the preparation for the current season, Enem was still part of the selection of Alfred Schreuder. The physically strong striker was even accurate in the exhibition game against Lokomotiva Zagreb (3-0 win). Four minutes before the end, Enem was able to tap the ball in after a cross from Ar’jany Martha. Enem has often suffered from long-term injuries in recent years. The Dutchman with Nigerian roots hopes to put that behind him for good in Venice.

At Venezia, Enem will become a teammate of Ridgeciano Haps, who has been under contract with the Italian club since last summer. Haps was acquired from Feyenoord for five hundred thousand euros. With Dennis Johnsen and Andrija Novakovich, the club also has two attackers in the ranks with a past in the Eredivisie. This Sunday, Venezia will start the season with a home game against Genoa, where former AZ player Albert Gudmundsson is under contract.
