Daley Blind will stay with Ajax longer. The team from Amsterdam report through official channels that the 31-year-old defender has extended his contract in the Johan Cruijff ArenA until mid-2023. His previous contract expired a year earlier.

Blind went through Ajax’s youth academy from the age of eight. He made his debut in the first team on December 7, 2008 in the FC Volendam – Ajax (1-2) match. The left leg was rented out to FC Groningen in the second half of the 2009/10 season and then returned to Ajax. In the following seasons he became champion four times as an Ajax player and also won the Johan Cruijff Shield (2013).

In the summer of 2014, Blind left for Manchester United. In total he played 141 official games for the English record champion. He won the UEFA Europa League, the FA Cup, the League Cup and the FA Community Shield with that team. In the summer of 2018, Blind returned to Amsterdam and immediately seized the double. In 2019, the Amsterdammer also won the Johan Cruijff Shield. He has played 265 official matches in Ajax’s first team so far, scoring 11 goals.
