Ajax sells Nicolás Tagliafico to West Ham United, reports The Telegraph. The 28-year-old defender will reportedly earn the team from Amsterdam twelve million euros. Ajax and West Ham have verbally agreed, but Tagliafico has yet to reach a personal agreement with the Premier League club.

The transfer from Tagliafico to West Ham United is therefore not yet a foregone conclusion. The Argentine left-back has rejected a first contract proposal for four seasons, the morning newspaper reports. Tagliafico himself has traveled to Venezuela for international obligations and leaves the negotiations completely to his agent Ricardo Schlieper. An attempt is being made to reach a settlement with West Ham before 23:59 on Tuesday evening.

Last year Ajax already wanted to participate in a transfer for Tagliafico. At that time, amounts between 20 and 25 million euros were mentioned. With a compensation of twelve million euros, the Amsterdammers now seem to be adding water to the wine. Marc Overmars already told opposite on Sunday ESPN to take into account the departure of Tagliafico, who came over from Independiente in January 2018 for an amount of four to five million euros.

Tagliafico has never made a secret of his desire to compete in a top league one day and can now see his dream come true. The left wing defender managed to become a regular base player at Ajax from the start and stands on 141 official duels (13 goals and 19 assists) for the club. He also developed into a fixed value in the Argentine national team, with which he won the Copa América this summer. He is on 33 internationals.
