Late Wednesday evening the news came from England that Barcelona would have the best papers for the arrival of Sergiño Dest. Since then, however, it has become known that Thiago Alcántara Bayern is likely to trade Munich for Liverpool and that Rekordmeister seems to want to use part of the midfielder’s transfer fee for a deal with Ajax.

Sky Germany reports Thursday afternoon that the talks between Bayern and Ajax about a transfer from Dest have ‘intensified’ in recent days. The German superpower is supposed to have been around for some time with Dest himself about a five year contract and is now switching in his attempts to reach an agreement with Ajax as well.

However, according to the reports, the two parties are still quite far apart in terms of transfer fees. Ajax would initially have asked for thirty million euros, while Bayern made an initial offer of ten million euros in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The clubs have continued the talks since then and are reportedly now closer to each other.

Sky adds by the way that Barcelona has not been in contact with the camp Dest in recent times. Moreover, Ronald Koeman’s employer currently has no money to attract the nineteen-year-old wing defender. Previous rumours that Bayern would be in the market for Max Aarons are also incorrect: according to reports, the Germans have never submitted a concrete bid to Norwich City.

Bayern seems to collect a maximum of thirty million in total for Thiago and is therefore apparently planning to reserve part of this amount for Dest. BILD by the way, manages to add that technical director Hasan Salihamidzic is not looking for a one-on-one replacement for the Spaniard. Corentin Tolisso will have a chance to prove himself in midfield next season.
