Ajax has agreed to a settlement proposal from the KNVB prosecutor for professional football. As a result, Kenneth Taylor has been suspended for three games, one of which is conditional. The eighteen-year-old midfielder received a direct red card on Thursday in the won league match against VVV-Venlo (3-1). Taylor misses Sunday’s final game against Vitesse and the first game of next season.

The youth exponent had come in during the break as a replacement for Davy Klaassen. It was only his third appearance of the season for the first team. Taylor was sent off with a red card by referee Dennis Higler after a tackle on Danny Post’s lower leg. At first Higler gave yellow, but after watching the video images he changed his opinion and Ajax had to continue with ten men. It was then 1-0; despite the numerical bottom line, the victory for the team from Amsterdam was not in danger.

Taylor’s season total remains due to the red card and the suspension at 81 minutes in 3 appearances in the Eredivisie. He also played 29 games for Young Ajax in the Kitchen Champion Division, in which Taylor scored 7 times and gave 4 assists. The left leg went through Ajax’s youth academy from the age of eight. In September 2020, his expiring contract was broken open by Ajax and extended until the summer of 2024.

Kenneth Taylor’s foul can be seen from minute 5:36.
