Barcelona is in the process of bringing in two Brazilian talents, it knows Sport to report. Technical director Mateu Alemany asked predecessor Ramón Planes at the start of this season about Santos players who were good enough for the Catalans and the names of attacker Ángelo Gabriel (17) and center defender Kaiky (18) were immediately put forward. Barcelona wants to bring in the duo for an agreed price of 35 million euros, so it sounds from Spain.
Both players have been followed by scouts from Barcelona for some time. Ángelo is seen as a very talented attacker, while Kaiky is complimented for his footballing qualities as a defender. Ángelo has also already appeared on the radar of some unnamed Premier League clubs, prompting Barcelona’s technical leadership to do business quickly. The youth international of Brazil, who extended his contract with Santos in December until December 2024, now has 56 matches in the first team.

Barcelona wants according to Sport don’t rush things with Ángelo. They first wait until the talented wing attacker turns eighteen in December of this year, before really making a definitive transfer. Trainer Xavi has an important say in the final decision regarding the winger. Various clubs from England are said to have submitted offers to Santos in the past period, which, however, only wants to do business with Barcelona. The Brazilian club is bound by an agreement related to Neymar’s transfer from Santos to Barcelona in 2013.
Santos received 7.9 million euros from Barcelona at the time, which gave them a purchase option for three players of their choice, including Gabriel Barbosa. However, the attacker was sold to Internazionale for around €30 million in 2016, much to Barcelona’s anger and surprise. The case was brought before FIFA, which demanded Santos pay three million euros for violating the agreement with the Catalan superpower. The Brazilians managed to evade the fine by giving Barcelona the first option on two of the youth academy’s greatest talents. Because of this, it seems that Ángelo and Kaiky will trade Santos for the Camp Nou in the short term.
