AC Milan suffered a painful defeat in the Serie A on Monday evening, deep in injury time. First referee Marco Serra whistled too early for a valid goal from Junior Messias, after which Emmanuel Gyasi shot the 1-2 against the ropes in the final seconds. At the same time, Napoli was 0-2 too strong for Bologna thanks to two hits by Hirving Lozano.

AC Milan – Spezia 1-2
In the Serie A match with Spezia, it was only Milan that beat the clock before half time. Leão quickly handed out a pinprick from the edge of the penalty area. After more than fifteen minutes of play, he was even closer to the opening goal from the same position. This time goalkeeper Ivan Provedel was barely able to save with his right leg. The striker duo Leão – Zlatan Ibrahimovic was continuously brought into position, but did not have a sharp eye. Provedel managed to distinguish himself with some excellent saves, but immediately disadvantaged Spezia by taking down Leão after a difficult assumption. The ball went to the penalty spot after the intervention of the VAR, but Theo Hernández forgot to unwrap the present.

The defender shot from eleven meters wide, but was able to cheer a minute later, when a long ball from Rade Krunic ended up at Leão with some luck. The attacker passed the emerging Provedel by subtly tapping the toy over him: 1-0. The many missed opportunities cost the team of coach Stefano Pioli dearly after the break, because halfway through the second half it ran into an unexpected equalizer. Daniele Verde put the ball in front, after which Kevin Agudelo was able to shoot in completely uncovered: 1-1. It went completely wrong for Milan in injury time. First, referee Marco Serra whistled too early for a goal by Junior Messias. In the very last minute Spezia grabbed the full loot, when Emmanuel Gyasi rounded off a counter: 1-2.

Bologna – Napoli 0-2
The spell was broken by the visitors after twenty minutes, after Eljif Elmas pulled the ball in front of the goal on intuition. Lozano showed himself alert by coming in front of his direct opponent and hitting a goal in the left corner: 0-1. Fabián Ruiz thought he could double the margin before halftime, but had to watch as his attempt landed on the crossbar. Bologna, where Sidney van Hooijdonk started on the bench, was unable to make a fist offensively. The match was closed after the break by Lozano, who was offered an unmissable opportunity by Ruiz via a counter: 0-2
