AZ does not have to take Ciro Immobile into account on Tuesday evening. The 33-year-old super striker of Lazio is struggling with a muscle injury that he sustained on Friday evening during the handsome victory over leader Napoli (0-1). The number three of the Serie A reports through the official channels that Immobile will be thoroughly investigated in the coming days. After that, Lazio can determine specifically how long the Italian will be out of circulation.

Immobile already scored eleven goals and five assists in 27 official games this season. The right foot, also captain of Lazio, is known in the Italian capital as the absolute star of i Biancocelesti. According to Transfer market only Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (sixty million euros) has a higher market value than Immobile (23 million euros) in the Lazio selection. The 55-time international of Italy (fifteen goals) is therefore the club’s all-time top scorer with no less than 193 goals.

The striker had to miss the game with Feyenoord (1-0) earlier this season due to an injury. Now Immobile is missing again against a Dutch opponent. Trainer Maurizio Sarri can also have a fully fit selection. AZ coach Pascal Jansen has to do without Riechedly Bazoer, Sam Beukema, Bruno Martins Indi, Zinho Vanheusden and Dani de Wit in Stadio Olimpico. The talented striker Mexx Meerdink has traveled to Rome with the Alkmaar selection.

Sarri hinted at the preparatory press conference on Monday that he was impressed by AZ. “We are going to play against a team that is fighting for the championship at the highest level. AZ has only one point less than Ajax in the Netherlands. It is a strong, dynamic and very intense team.” The game between Lazio and AZ will be finished on Tuesday at 6.45 pm. AZ has to show up two days earlier for the first leg because AS Roma will face Real Sociedad in Stadio Olimpico on Thursday evening.
