Bayern Munich’s interest in Denzel Dumfries is currently not concrete. BILD write that of the Rekordmeister before the start of the European Championship, he inquired with his agent Mino Raiola about the availability of the wing defender. At the moment, Bayern’s interest in Dumfries is “cold” in the words of the German newspaper, as PSV’s asking price is considered too high.

Hasan Salihamidzic, sporting director of Bayern, has made inquiries with PSV and Raiola. This contact dates back to before the start of the European Championship, on which Dumfries is making an excellent impression for the time being. In the the Dutch matches against Ukraine (3-2 win) and Austria (2-0 win), Dumfries was accurate, which only increased his transfer fee. For the time being, Bayern is of the opinion that PSV wishes to receive an amount that is too high for Dumfries, as a result of which the champion of Germany is not specifically in the market for him.

BILD writes that this position could still change if Corentin Tolisso, Niklas Süle or Bouna Sarr are sold this summer. Sarr has only been playing in Munich for a year, after he was acquired from Olympique Marseille a year ago for eight million euros, and has a contract until mid-2024. Tolisso (acquired from Olympique Lyon in 2017 for 41.5 million euros) and Süle ( acquired from TSG Hoffenheim in 2017 for 20 million euros) have been playing in Munich for some time, but both have a contract until mid-2022 and threaten to end up in their last contract year next season.

Last Friday it revealed Eindhovens Dagblad that PSV was thinking of an amount of twelve to fifteen million euros for Dumfries prior to the European Championship. Due to its excellent performance in the final round, the asking price could still rise slightly. Sky Deutschland also reported that Bayern did not intend to pay fifteen million euros for Dumfries, who in the eyes of the German top club would fit well into the system of the new coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Marcel Brands also has serious interest in the right back on behalf of Everton, it reported Eindhovens Dagblad before. The technical manager had a hand in 2018 that Dumfries was taken over by PSV from sc Heerenveen. Brands had just been sold from PSV to Everton in June 2018, when the wingback was attracted, so that his successor John de Jong completed the transfer. PSV paid 5.5 million euros to Heerenveen three years ago, which also managed to negotiate a resale percentage of ten percent.
