Horace Danjuma may have played his last game for Bournemouth. The Cherries failed to return to the Premier League last season, leaving some big names out of the roster. Danjuma is by the Daily Mail already mentioned as a possible acquisition of Leicester City, VfL Wolfsburg and Olympique Lyon.

Danjuma impressed Bournemouth in the Championship last season, with 17 goals and 8 assists in 37 league games as the final result. The winger was accurate in both games against Brentford in the semi-finals of the play-offs for promotion. Nevertheless, it was not enough to guide Bournemouth to the final at Wembley. Danjuma was also linked in the English media with Southampton and West Ham United last month.

“Of course I wanted to go to the European Championship, but I couldn’t do more than this”

Brendan Rodgers, manager of Leicester, would see Danjuma as the ideal replacement for Cengiz Ünder who has returned to AS Roma. The Fa Cup winner will have to make a good offer to Bournemouth, as Danjuma is tied up in the Vitality Stadium until mid-2024. The winger is compared to Emiliano Buendía in terms of statistics in the English media. The winger had a large share in Norwich City’s promotion with fifteen goals and seventeen assists. Buendía can now count on interest from Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Danjuma recently said in an extensive interview with football zone that he hopes to be able to ‘play in one of the top five leagues in the world’ next season. Ajax, that in February Football International pushed forward did not seem to be an option. “There has been contact here and there, but nothing has happened. I didn’t want to leave halfway through the season. Bournemouth had mapped out a path, I was in the right place and I would like to bring the club back to the Premier League. The timing wasn’t ideal, so that helped a bit to stay with Bournemouth. But I will never rule out that it could always happen at some point. Ajax is an institution worldwide. If I ever return to the Eredivisie, it must be for one of the bigger clubs. I would never come back for a club in the middle bracket,” said Danjuma.
