Lille OSC booked a hard-fought victory over Olympique Lyon on Sunday evening. At the Parc Olympique Lyonnais, the home team enjoyed a 2-1 lead at halftime, which was turned around in the second company by trainer Christophe Galtier’s team: 2-3. Burak Yilmaz was the big man on the side of Lille (73 points) with two goals and an assist, which thanks to the victory recaptures the lead at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain (72). AS Monaco (71), which earlier in the day won 0-1 against Angers SCO, follows in third position, while Lyon (67) seems to be dropping out in the title fight. Memphis Depay couldn’t play a significant role.

Olympique Lyon – Lille OSC 2-3
After an opening phase in which both teams searched, the match became more attractive from the seventeenth minute. On behalf of Lyon, Islam Slimani received a tailor-made pass in the box, but shot just over from a promising position. Three minutes later, the attacker managed to open the score. Maxence Caqueret got the ball on the back line and then put it back to Slimani, who scored the 1-0 in the short corner. Ten minutes after Jonathan David’s equalizer was disallowed for offside, Lyon doubled the lead.

After a free kick from the right, Sven Botman hindered his own goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who dived under the ball. José Fonte did not take the miss into account and then worked the ball into his own goal: 2-0. Still, Lille managed to straighten his back before the break. Burak Yilmaz was allowed to dock at about 25 meters from the enemy goal for a free kick, which he then shot in in a phenomenal way: 2-1. In the second act, the visitors would use the remontada give the desired follow-up.

After an hour of play there was another star role for Yilmaz, who gratefully benefited from a very weak back pass from Lucas Paqueta. The Turkish attacker put the ball wide on David, who scored the 2-2 from close range. The decision was made five minutes before the end of regular time. A deep pass from Botman was extended with the head by Yusuf Yazici, who sent Yilmaz into the penalty area. The attacker remained very calm and put the 2-3 final score on the scoreboard with a nice marker ball.

Angers SCO 0-1 AS Monaco
The number three in France came into action earlier in the day to visit mid-engine Angers. The Monegasken had a difficult afternoon at the Stade Raymond-Kopa, where it took until the 79th minute before the liberating opening goal was found. Youssouf Fofana sent a perfect through ball from the center line to Wissam Ben Yedder, who took the ball with him and finished with a nice marker: 0-1. Ten minutes after the break, Guillermo Maripan already had a good opportunity to score the opening goal. However, the defender hit the bar with his bet.
