Feyenoord is working in the background on a successor to Arne Slot. The current trainer of the team from Rotterdam is in the concrete interest of Tottenham Hotspur. Usually well-established 1908.nl lists eight possible candidates to succeed Slot at Feyenoord. The name of Peter Bosz is also mentioned by various media. However, partly due to ‘old pain’, he would not be on the shortlist.

It is certain that Feyenoord wants to continue with Sipke Hulshoff for longer. The current assistant coach of Slot still has a contract until mid-2024 in De Kuip. Feyenoord sees a greater role for Hulshoff in the future, with the necessary experience at his side. If the head coachship comes too soon for the 48-year-old Leeuwarder at the moment, Maurice Steijn (Sparta Rotterdam), Dick Schreuder (PEC Zwolle) and Pascal Jansen (AZ) are also seen as potential successors to Slot.

It can also not be ruled out that Feyenoord will opt for a foreign trainer in the event of Slot’s departure. According to 1908.nl Gregg Berhalter, national coach of the United States, is also considered a serious candidate. In addition, there are also three Danish trainers in the picture: Jon Dahl Tomasson (Blackburn Rovers), Kasper Hjulmand (national coach Denmark) and Bo Svensson (FSV Mainz 05).

Remarkably enough, Bosz is not explicitly in the picture to possibly succeed Slot. “There is a lot of speculation and suggestions in the media, although there is currently nothing going on between Feyenoord and Bosz. Partly due to some old pain, he is not on the shortlist ”, it can be read. The 59-year-old coach played for Feyenoord between 1990 and 1996, after which he also served as the club’s technical director from 2006 to 2009. 1908.nl emphasizes that Feyenoord is not yet concrete for any trainer and is first quietly waiting for the situation around Slot.

Shortlist Football International
Martijn Krabbendam gave Tuesday in the Dick Voormekaar podcast by Football International indicates that Feyenoord director Dennis te Kloese seems to be taking a departure into account and has indeed compiled a list of successors. The journalist from VI announced that Bosz’s name would be on a four-person shortlist. The names of Tomasson, Dick Schreuder and Marcel Keizer (Al-Jazira) were also mentioned by Krabbendam in the podcast.
