Hakim Ziyech is explicitly linked to a return to Ajax. During the day WK Talk on ESPN discuss Freek Jansen, club watcher on behalf of Football Internationaland former Moroccan international Nordin Amrabat the chance of a reunion between the stylist and the reigning national champion and both see it happen.

In the past six months, Ziyech has not been able to play in the starting line-up at Chelsea under either Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter. A reserve role also seems inevitable for the next few months and so a return to Ajax would help him get back to playing football. Jansen therefore tips the Amsterdam club to make work of it. “There was already talk in the summer, but that was about renting and Ziyech didn’t want that. He also didn’t want to go to Milan on a rental basis. If I were Ajax, I would buy him.”

Amrabat has the same opinion. The former international of Morocco even thinks he knows what Ziyech would be sensitive to. “He will do it if he gets a contract for three or four years with Ajax,” said the attacker of AEK Athens. “He certainly won’t let himself be hired. Play five months, thank you and goodbye, that’s not for him. What Chelsea will want for Ziyech? I think half of what they paid for him. They want about twenty million, I think. If you become champion and make it to the Champions League, you deserve it again, right?”

Ajax did not want to buy in the summer because of the high costs. The team from Amsterdam should also now reserve a substantial amount for a transfer fee and a multi-year contract for Ziyech and Amrabat does not know whether the technician from Dronten also wants to think along financially. “It is a leader for your team, but the question is whether he wants it himself. He now has a big contract with Chelsea and would have to hand in about half to return.”
