Yvon Mvogo has already said goodbye to his teammates at PSV. The mercenary from RB Leipzig does not expect that the people of Eindhoven will definitively take over from the Germans, despite his sporting revenge in the final phase of last season. PSV approached the club management of those Roten Bullen not yet and seems to be looking at other candidates for under the bar, with Jasper Cillessen still high on the list.

In the summer of 2020, Mvogo signed a lease with PSV for two seasons, without a formal option to buy. The 27-year-old goalie was an undisputed base player for the Eindhoven team in his first season, but lost his place this year to Joël Drommel, who was taken from FC Twente. The latter, however, continued to leave an unreliable impression under the bar throughout the season, as a result of which trainer Roger Schmidt finally condemned him to the second plan at the beginning of April, in favor of Mvogo. He had already been given the chance by Schmidt in February, but immediately blundered in the lost duel with AZ (1-2). Mvogo was immediately victimized again – something the goalkeeper could not understand at the time.

However, the Swiss fought his way back into the team and with him under the bar, PSV won the TOTO KNVB Cup in mid-April. Nevertheless, Mvogo does not have to count on a longer stay, despite the fact that the number two of the last Eredivisie season would have explored the possibilities of taking him over. Some PSV commissioners were still convinced of his abilities. However, PSV now decides to look elsewhere and, in addition to Cillessen, also has Hendrik van Crombrugge (Anderlecht) in mind.

The people of Eindhoven would even have made an attempt to get rid of Cillessen at Valencia, it became clear last week. However, they still failed to do so. The future of the current second and third choice Drommel and Maxime Delanghe is still uncertain. It is certain, however, that Vincent Müller must seek his salvation elsewhere. PSV’s fourth choice came to Brabant on the intercession of departing trainer Roger Schmidt, but did not get any further than matches at Jong PSV. Also, Eran Zahavi and Ryan Thomas will leave anyway.
