Riechedly Bazoer went down with Vitesse without a chance on Saturday to visit PSV (2-0). The defender-cum-midfielder nevertheless appeared in front of the camera with a smile ESPN. There he had a conversation with Hans Kraay Jr., who found Bazoer sympathetic. “You’re actually quite a nice guy, aren’t you?” Kraay Jr. concluded at the end of the conversation.

Bazoer has the image of a ‘difficult’ player and was disciplinary suspended at the beginning of this calendar year by his trainer Thomas Letsch after misbehavior in training. During the match against PSV, Kraay jr. got the impression that Bazoer would again cross the line. “You are now back in front of the camera with a great smile, but for a moment I had the impression that you were going crazy against Mario Götze,” said the reporter. “I thought you were going to give him a ‘blind vulture’.”

“No, no, no. Absolutely not”, Bazoer responded with a big smile. “I tried to bring a little more poison into the team in the second half, and I think we played well then, but not enough for today.” After that, Kraay Jr. established that Bazoer is actually ‘quite a nice guy’. “If you say so,” said the laughing Bazoer. Kraay Jr. went on to say: “But when I play against you I would think: it’s going to hit me right now.“No, no, absolutely not,” Bazoer responded.

Bazoer saw how his team barely got involved against PSV on Saturday. “I think we certainly had no chance in the first half today. We had a lot of trouble with the running people, especially from the outside with Bruma and Ritsu Doan. I have to say that we started well with a big chance, but then had we really have a very hard time. In the second half, the coach changed it a bit.” Bazoer then moved more to the left side of the defense. “We tried to catch Doan on the left. In the second half we also had a little more grip.”
