Sunday, May 28, Barcelona will play its last match at the Spotify Camp Nou. Due to renovation, Barcelona will play its home games in 2023/24 at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium. This is also the stadium where Lionel Messi made his debut for Barcelona. The stadium is located about 4 kilometers from the Spotify Camp Nou and has room for more than 55,000 fans. Barcelona returns to its own stadium after one season, after which the stadium is only filled for 50 percent. Subsequently, the entire third ring will be replaced, so that after renovation there will be room for about 105,000 fans!

Barcelona plays its last home game against mid-engine RCD Mallorca. Xavi’s team is currently the leader in LaLiga and seems to be well on its way to becoming champions of Spain. The gap with number two Atlético Madrid is currently thirteen points, which means that they can become champions against Espanyol next weekend. If that does not happen, Barcelona can still secure the national championship in its own stadium. This could take place in the home game against Real Sociedad on Sunday May 21, or they can take the title in the final game at the Spotify Camp Nou against Mallorca.
