Wim Kieft is impressed by Vaclav Cerny and would like to see FC Twente’s wing attacker in Ajax’s shirt again. Cerny showed his form on Sunday in the 3-1 home game against his old employer and added to his strong performance with a nice goal in the final phase. The Czech attacker played for Ajax between 2015 and 2019, before ending up at Twente via FC Utrecht.

“By the way, this is a very good footballer, that Cerny,” Kieft inserts on Monday Veronica Offside praise for the star on the side of Twente. “He didn’t make it to Ajax and then had a lot of injuries, but that guy can really play football, man.” Table mate Andy van der Meijde asks Kieft if Ajax should bring him back this summer. “I would be quite curious if he could handle it now. He is very good, that boy.”

Cerny scored brilliantly on Sunday, giving Twente a 3-1 lead against Ajax. The analysts were especially shocked by the third goal of defending Ajax. “There are three men and you just have to keep putting pressure.” Van der Meijde saw the Ajax players all step back when Cerny got the ball just outside the box. “If you put pressure forward, Cerny can’t turn.” Sneijder feels a little sorry for John Heitinga after the bumbling in the Ajax defense.

“Here I understand that look of Heitinga”, Sneijder feels sympathy for the losing coach. “He can strangle that Rensch at that moment. What is he doing now? This too, let it bounce nicely. And don’t keep pushing it through”, the surprised analyst judges when he sees the players of Ajax fall short at the action and Cerny’s hit.
