Internazionale did excellent business in the Serie A on Wednesday evening. Simone Inzaghi’s team had no child in Bologna at home: 6-1. The home club therefore takes full advantage of the point loss of competitors Atalanta (2-1 defeat against US Lecce) and AS Roma (1-1 draw visiting Sassuolo) earlier in the evening and climbs up to fourth place in Serie A.

Stefan de Vrij was on the bench at Inter on Wednesday evening. Denzel Dumfries and André Onana were at the kick-off. On the Bologna side, Jerdy Schouten could count on a basic place. The midfielder saw that his team took the lead after twenty minutes of play. Riccardo Orsolini had a lot of luck, after his long shot was deflected on the way by Charalampos Lykogiannis: 0-1. That lead did not last long, however, as Edin Dzeko equalized four minutes later. Dumfries got the ball through Lykogiannis at the striker, who then made the 1-1 with a wonderful volley.

Then things went fast and the home team made two goals before halftime via Federico Dimarco (free kick) and Lautaro Martínez (header), so that both teams went to the dressing rooms with a 3-1 score. It took only two minutes after the start of the second company for the next goal to hit the scoreboard. It was again Dimarco who was accurate, this time after a good individual action. The Italian was sent off by Nicolò Barella, before he cut out his direct opponent and hit into the far corner: 4-1.

Ten minutes later, the damage was even greater for Bologna. Joaquín Sosa, who had only just entered the field, had the ball hit his arm from close range by Dzeko. Referee Andrea Colombo initially saw nothing in it, but after he was called to the screen by the video referee, he still awarded Inter a penalty. Hakan Calhanoglu made good use of that and hit from eleven meters: 5-1. Fifteen minutes before the end, Robin Gosens put the final score on the board: 6-1.
