Willem II is going to strengthen himself with Alexander Fransson, reports The Telegraph. According to the newspaper, the midfielder will soon commit to the Tilburg club and will also do so on a free transfer. The eight-time Swedish A-international is currently without a club after his contract with IFK Norrköping has expired.

It is not the first foreign adventure for Fransson. The 27-year-old midfielder became national champion in October 2015 with IFK Norrköping, which had waited 26 years for a national title. Three months later, he signed a contract with FC Basel. Fransson was twice national champion with the Swiss club and also played for Lausanne-Sport. From the summer of 2018, he again wore the uniform of IFK Norrköping.

Willem II strengthened himself earlier this month with right back Kilian Ludewig (Red Bull Salzburg), striker Jizz Hornkamp (FC Den Bosch) and is about to take over center defender Wessel Dammers from FC Groningen. The club from Tilburg has lost each of the last ten matches in the Eredivisie and has been waiting for a victory for thirteen games. Fred Grim’s team is only one spot above the red line.
