AC Milan grabbed the league title in the Serie A for the first time since 2011 after a thrilling end during the last round. Piolo retained the two-point lead over Internazionale. There was great disappointment with the arch-rival, who failed to prolong the 2020/21 Scudetto. Last season was one to forget for Inter. I Nerazzurri were knocked out by Liverpool early in the Champions League, had to leave the league title to AC Milan as mentioned and lost the Coppa Italia final to Juventus.
