Owen Wijndal showed his worst side on Saturday evening. In the play-off match against Anderlecht, the Royal Antwerp left back got into an altercation with ex-PSV player Thorgan Hazard, after which Wijndal delivered a light headbutt.

The match between Anderlecht and Royal Antwerp, where Vincent Janssen, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Wijndal started in the starting line-up, started very nervously and so there was little to do for either goal.

Until Wijndal caused some commotion just before half time. The left back was pushed to the ground by Hazard, after which Wijndal reacted in a very agitated manner and ended up with his head against the Belgian's.

It didn't take long before Hazard went to the grass like a dying swan. At first it seemed mainly an act, but in the replays it was still visible how Wijndal made a headbutt movement.

Initially, the referee wanted to solve the problem with a warning, but on the advice of the VAR he was still called to the screen.

It took several minutes before a final decision was made, but after studying the images extensively, the referee was also convinced. Wijndal was punished with the red card.
