Jürgen Klopp does not hide his frustrations after the defeat in the Europa League against Toulouse (3-2). At the press conference, the Liverpool manager is absolutely not happy with the press room in the old Stadium Municipal.

While Klopp is speaking, the loud cheering and cheering of Toulouse supporters can be heard through the walls in the press room. It visibly irritates the German. “Who the hell thought of holding the press conference in this place? That is a very interesting question. Wow!”, he sounds frustrated. Klopp falls silent and then shakes his head as he listens to the cheering.

Liverpool lost in Toulouse, partly due to a goal from Thijs Dallinga. Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch were missing the Reds due to physical discomfort. “It was a deserved defeat,” Klopp said.

“Toulouse won almost all the decisive matches. There are too many situations in which we should have won the ball, but we didn’t. Then the defeat is justified.”

According to Klopp, the goals conceded were also preventable. “We gave the ball away easily at least twice.” This was, for example, the case with Aron Dønnum’s 1-0, a goal that was caused by a clumsy loss of ball by Konstantinos Tsimikas.

“If you concede three goals, you have to score a lot of goals to win. We almost got a point.” Liverpool saw Jarell Quansah’s goal disallowed in the tenth minute of injury time in the second half due to a handball from Alexis Mac Allister.

“That goal wouldn’t have made the game better, but it would have felt better in the rankings.” Liverpool remains at the top of Group E with nine points. Runner-up Toulouse follows behind with seven points collected. Union Sint-Gillis (four points) and LASK (three points) are still below that.
