Silvester van der Water may already have played his last match for Heracles Almelo. The club from Almelo announces Sunday afternoon that the outdoor player has ‘signed out’ for the away game against Willem II. It is unclear what exactly the reason is, although there is a good chance that it is transfer-related. Luca de la Torre is the replacement for Van der Water in the basic line-up of the Heraclieden.

Orlando City SC recently made a bid for Van der Water, but Heracles didn’t feel like selling the outdoor player before the start of the new Eredivisie season. It’s unclear whether the position on the 23-year-old left-legged wing forward has changed. According to technical director Tim Gilissen, the amount of money Orlando City had left for Van der Water was ‘not interesting enough’.

Van der Water, with a contract until 2021 in Almelo, let it be known earlier that he would be open for a nice transfer to a Dutch club or abroad. “I’d love to.” The striker was immediately of great value in Heracles’ first league game with ADO Den Haag (2-0). From a corner of Van der Water Rai Vloet headed in 1-0 and then the outfielder himself took the 2-0.

Van der Water has been a fixture on the right side of the Heracles attack for some time now. The young striker has scored 11 goals and 5 assists in 40 matches on behalf of coach Frank Wormuth’s team. Heracles already said goodbye to Cyriel Dessers, who signed for four seasons with Racing Genk. The sale of the Belgian top marksman earned the club four million euros.
