Ruud van Nistelrooij has announced his line-up for the Europa League match with FK Bodø/Glimt. The coach is making some changes after last Saturday’s defeat against FC Twente (2-1). Phillipp Mwene and Ismael Saibari are kicking off. The striker position is filled by Yorbe Vertessen. The game starts at 6.45 pm in the Philips Stadium.
PSV suffered its first league defeat of the season on Saturday when visiting FC Twente. It was another downer after the team from Eindhoven were eliminated in the play-offs of the Champions League by the Rangers of Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Van Nistelrooij chooses Phillipp Mwene as right back against FK Bodø/Glimt. The center of the defense is formed by Jordan Teze and Armando Obispo, meaning André Ramalho will lose his starting spot. Philipp Max starts as left back, while Walter Benítez defends the Eindhoven goal.

Van Nistelrooij briefly opts for the defense for inspectors Ibrahim Sangaré and Joey Veerman. After the decisive duel with Rangers, the latter openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that he was posted as number 10. Veerman once again played a controlling role in recent Eredivisie matches and made a good impression in his trusted position, especially against Excelsior (1-6 win) and FC Volendam (7-1 win). Xavi Simons also starts in the base.
PSV and Van Nistelrooij are still looking now that Luuk de Jong is sidelined for the time being with an injury. The striker position has been filled by Simons and Saibari in recent matches. However, Simons seems to start as number 10 against the Norwegians and Saibari from the right flank. The striker position will most likely be filled by Vertessen, who will appear at the kick-off for the first time this season. The attacker suffered from appendicitis and has only just recovered. Cody Gakpo starts as usual from the left wing.
