Ruud van Nistelrooij makes some changes to his basic formation for the Champions League play-off game against Rangers. The PSV trainer chooses André Ramalho and Érick Gutiérrez as starters for the first time in this European campaign. The changes are at the expense of Phillipp Mwene and Guus Til, who take place on the bench. The match kicks off at 9pm in Glasgow.

On target is the until now very reliable Argentinian closing post Walter Benítez, with Ramalho and Armando Obispo formed as the central duo. Jordan Teze plays on the right wing, at the expense of Mwene who has played in that position in the Champions League so far. Wolves mercenary Ki-Jana Hoever was not included in his match selection at all by Van Nistelrooij. Philipp Max can defend the left flank again.

In midfield, PSV will go into the game more defensively than usual on Tuesday, so that a spot has been reserved for Gutiérrez instead of Til or Xavi Simons. Last Saturday Simons was still on 10 in the 2-5 won away match at Go Ahead Eagles, while Til has often started in the Champions League so far. Both offensive midfielders are on the bench at PSV. Van Nistelrooij starts in the front, just like in previous Champions League matches with Ismael Saibari, Luuk de Jong and Cody Gakpo.

Lineup Rangers: McLaughlin; Tavernier, Goldson, Sands, Barisic; Lundstram, Davis, Tillman; Lawrence, Colak, Kent.

Probable PSV line-up: Benitez; Teze, Ramalho, Obispo, Max; Sangare, Gutierrez, Veerman; Saibari, De Jong, Gakpo
