The transfer of Donny van de Beek to Manchester United is after the arrival of Edinson Cavani the worst deal in the last transfer period in England, according to a survey by The Athletic among agents. The English platform decided to ask eighteen advocates about the worst deals of the past period and Van de Beek was often mentioned.

In the responses, the agents took into account various factors, such as the transfer fees, the salary of the acquisition and his possible contribution to the team. Cavani’s transfer to Manchester United is seen as the strangest deal. The 33-year-old striker, who has come over from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer and earns around 200,000 euros a week from United, received 28 percent of the vote. “Are you handling your budget well?” Asks one agent.

Van de Beek (11 percent) also got off badly. Many agents wonder whether the ex-midfielder of Ajax is worth at least 39 million euros and a week’s salary of 120,000 euros. People also doubt whether Van de Beek is necessary at the current United. Defender Nathan Aké, who exchanged Bournemouth for Manchester City, like many other players, received about six percent of the vote and takes partial third place in the list.

The worst deals of the last transfer period:
1. Edinson Cavani to Manchester United (free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain)
