Giovanni van Bronckhorst is close to a deal with Besiktas, various Turkish media and 1908.nl. The former Feyenoord coach can become Riza Calimbay's successor in Istanbul.

However, there is no agreement between Besiktas and Van Bronckhorst yet. The coach wants to bring Jean-Paul van Gastel as an assistant coach. However, the NAC coach is not allowed to leave his current employer.

Besiktas would even be willing to pay a buyout fee for Van Gastel, but it remains to be seen whether that can convince the club from Breda to say goodbye to its head coach. Van Gastel has been under contract with NAC since this season and has made a good impression so far.
