Luis Sinisterra claimed a negative lead role during the 0-0 draw of Leeds United with Aston Villa on Sunday. The 23-year-old attacker received his second yellow card shortly after the break, and had to leave the field with a red card. However, with ten men, the home team managed to hold on, so that the glasses position was on the scoreboard after ninety minutes.

On the left flank, Jesse March had again made way for Pascal Struijk behind Sinisterra. The Dutchman is invariably a basic player under the American manager this season. Former Ajax player Rasmus Kristensen was the right back, while Crysencio Summerville had to take place on the bench next to newcomer Wilfried Gnonto. Villa manager Steven Gerrard preferred striker Ollie Watkins in his starting eleven, forcing Danny Ings to settle for a substitute role.

The initial phase at Elland Road was for the home team, but the peacocks were unable to convert the dominance into goals. Halfway through the first half, striker Rodrigo seemed to score the 1-0, but the Spaniard came just a few centimeters short after a good cross from Sinisterra. After that, Villa became a lot stronger. Sinisterra was shown his first yellow card after 26 minutes, when he deliberately knocked down John McGinn to prevent a counterattack. Just before half time, Jacob Ramsey failed to give the away team the lead.

Three minutes after the tea break, Sinisterra received his second yellow card. After a minor foul, the Colombian winger moved in front of Ramsey to block a free kick. Referee Stuart Attwell was then relentless and decided to send the ex-Feyenoord player off the field, after which the Villains became stronger. Ten minutes before the end, Summerville was allowed to come in from March, and with the Rotterdammer in the team, Leeds managed to pull a point over the line.
