Hakim Ziyech does not have to count on a transfer in January. Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel does not want to let the Moroccan international go. According to various media, the German trainer would be open to a winter departure from Ziyech, but that was debunked by him at a press conference. Tuchel calls the reporting ‘fabrications of the media’.

According to Sport Barcelona would like to bring Ziyech to the Camp Nou in January. Tuchel reportedly would not stop the departure of the ex-Ajacied. “It’s very easy,” the trainer replied when asked about the rumors at a press conference. “I have said several times that Hakim was doing very well in preparation, but that he had to deal with an injury that held him back. After his shoulder injury, he was not completely free in his head, which is necessary for his game.”

Ziyech has only played four games this Premier League season, two of which as a starting player. He played three times in the Champions League and was accurate once. “He has taken a step in recent games,” said Tuchel. “We had some injuries and he seized the opportunity for more minutes. Hakim was decisive: with an assist, with a goal. Which is good. At the moment we are not thinking about a possible departure of Hakim in the winter. I haven’t talked to anyone about that, so those are media fabrications.”

The 28-year-old Ziyech, whose contract at Stamford Bridge continues until the summer of 2025, has no wish to leave, according to Tuchel. “At least he didn’t report to me, so he’s just an important player in the selection. Hakim is a very talented and ambitious player and we expect the best from him. But there is a lot of competition. I can’t let everyone play 90 minutes all the time, that’s just impossible.” Chelsea will play in the Premier League against Leicester City this afternoon at 1.30 pm.
