The transfer of Kurt Zouma to West Ham United has been remarkably canceled. The centre-back was about to leave Chelsea for an adventure at the Hammers, but the deal is now off anyway, or so it sounds. All parties involved had already reached an agreement about the switch and the medical examination had already been scheduled. According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, the problem has arisen due to a dispute between agents.

On Tuesday evening, Julien Maynar, journalist at Telefoot, that Chelsea and West Ham had reached an agreement on a transfer from Zouma. The transfer within London would involve a transfer fee of €30 million and he would sign with his new club for five years. The central defender reportedly chose West Ham over Tottenham Hotspur, which eventually dropped out in the race for the Frenchman’s signature.

On Wednesday evening, however, Maynar reports that the transfer has suddenly come into question. “Turn in the Kurt Zouma dossier! While the player’s medical was already scheduled, Chelsea and West Ham came back at one point in the deal where they decided to cancel the deal. The defender does not go to the the Hammers,” the journalist wrote on Twitter. Romano adds that the problem lies with the agents, and that West Ham is doing everything it can to still recruit Zouma.

At the same time, the question is what the cancellation of the transfer means for the possible arrival of Jules Koundé. The Sevilla defender has long been linked to Chelsea and the Blues At an earlier stage, they wanted to bet Zouma, Kenedy and Emerson Palmieri in an exchange deal for the French defender, but that plan failed. Sevilla appear to want to stick to the escape clause of eighty million euros in the current contract of the 22-year-old Koundé, which must be part of the money from the transfer fee from Zouma.
