Thom Haye was recently watched by Toulouse, reports the Leeuwarder Courant. The 28-year-old midfielder, who is still committed to sc Heerenveen until mid-2024, must maintain the Dutch enclave with the French Cup winner now that Stijn Spierings and Branco van den Boomen are leaving transfer-free this summer. In Toulouse, Haye can still join compatriots Zakaria Aboukhlal, Thijs Dallinga and Said Hamulic. The controller was previously linked to the English Sunderland.

According to journalist Sander de Vries, Haye has stood out at Toulouse because of his good data. The right leg is one of the best long passers in Europe. The French have already seen the Amsterdammer in real life and the question is now whether they will become concrete. The question is also whether Toulouse will be on time: Sunderland still wants to get Haye despite missing out on promotion to the Premier League. According to Transfer market he is currently worth around two million euros.

Haye is one of the strongholds in Heerenveen’s midfield.

Haye has been playing for Heerenveen since January 2022, which transferred about 750,000 euros to NAC Breda at the time. Since then, the midfielder has played in 48 official matches for the Frisians, in which he scored two goals and eight assists. Haye previously played abroad for the Italian US Lecce. In the Netherlands, he was under contract with AZ, Willem II, NAC and ADO Den Haag in the past. Haye played a total of nine international matches for the Dutch Juniors.

Toulouse is mainly looking for reinforcements in midfield next summer, as strongholds such as Spierings and Van den Boomen will almost certainly leave free of transfer. They would, among other things, have the entire Dutch top behind them. Ali Dursun, agent of Spierings, already said that his client is very popular. “There is a lot going on around Stijn. These are big clubs. With all due respect, Stijn is at an age and at a point in his career where he can and must make a really big step,” said Dursun in conversation with Football International.
