Torino has finally won three points in Serie A after five league games without a win. Perr Schuurs’ team won 1-2 at subtopper Udinese. For the Turin team, Ola Aina and Pietro Pellegri were accurate, Gerard Deulofeu scored on behalf of Udinese. With the win, Torino climbs to ninth place in the ranking, Udinese remains sixth.

At Udinese, Kingsley Ehizibue and Bram Nuytinck started on the bench. Schuurs was in the starting line-up at Torino for the third time in a row. Udinese has had its best league start ever in Serie A so far. The team of coach Andrea Sottil has already booked six wins in ten games, although the last two league matches have drawn. The home team started the game strongly, but the first chance for Torino went straight into it. Aleksey Miranchuk was free in the box, turned well and passed to Aina, who pushed in controlled. Five minutes later, Deulofeu had a great chance to bring Udinese alongside. However, his shot went just wide. The home team kept up the pressure and that had an effect after Turin’s blunder.

Keeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic played the ball in with defender David Zima, who immediately wanted to lay wide. However, he missed Destiny Udogie and he brought the ball in front of the goal where Deulofeu could easily tap in: 1-1. Torino’s quick response came from Valentino Lazaro shortly after, but his effort fell to Marco Silvestri. Because a good header from Jaka Bijol was parried by Milinkovic-Savic, it remained 1-1 until the break.

In the second company, Udinese went looking for the lead more emphatically. After a heel from Isaac Success, Deulofeu thought to make his second, but again Milinkovic-Savic was in the way. However, it was the visitors who took the lead again. Substitute Nemanja Radonjic gave the ball out of the air to Pellegri and he hit in the short corner. The home team was forced to take more risks and went looking for the second equalizer of the day. Despite the pressure from Udinese, they did not score and so they lost for the first time in nine league games.
